Food products particularly of meat are extruded cased under pressure. The extrusion pressure, and the energy in the extrudate, makes the circular cross-section the only stable one on emergence from the extrusion head. In accordance with the present invention two unstable shapes, D-shaped (6) as described are extruded each cased (7) from its own extrusion head. The heads are disposed closely adjacent back to back so as to have a generally circular overall profile. An outer casing (8) is fitted over the two heads. On extrusion the two D-shaped pieces abut one another and the outer casing to preserve their shapes until stabilised by freezing.

The invention relates to the production of molded articles from meat or other lamellar materials, and specifically to methods for producing composite articles in shells by extrusion.
The purpose of the invention is the expansion of technological capabilities.
A method of manufacturing composite molded articles from meat or other plate materials can be implemented using an installation including an extruder unit (a stopper), a belt conveyor and a freezer.
FIG. 1 schematically shows an extruder unit; in fig. 2 is a view A of FIG. one; in fig. 3-5 are an overlapping device, a conveyor belt and a freezing apparatus, respectively, at the time of manufacturing the composite molded products at various stages of the process; fil 6 - molded product placed inside a common outer shell, transverse section; in fig. 7 - an element of the product, enclosed in an individual shell, a cross-section.
The plant for manufacturing composite molded products includes an extruder unit consisting of housings 1 with feed funnels 2, inside which pumps (not shown) are installed to pump the source material through tubes 3 and cylindrical mandrels 4 and 5 connected to them. support 6 and are equipped with extrusion heads 7 and 8, respectively. An individual tubular flexible sheath 9 is worn on the mandrel 4 with an extrusion head 7, and an 8-sheath 10 on the mandrel 5 with an extrusion head.
Shells 9 and 10 should be made of a non-toxic material to avoid the harmful effects of this material on the product. Extrusion heads 7 and 8 and individual shells 9 and 10 are placed inside a common flexible outer shell 11, which must be made of a material capable of withstanding considerable loads during extrusion and low temperatures during subsequent freezing.
In addition, the installation includes an overlapping device 12 comprising transporting rollers 13 mounted on guides 14, a shaped blade 15 mounted for reciprocating motion in a vertical plane, a fixed shaped anvil 16 placed below it, as well as a drive mechanism 17 for communicating reciprocating the blade 15. Between the latter and the anvil 16, an opening 18 is formed for the passage of molded articles. Thus, the proposed method allows product profiling by using different extrusion heads and interacting with one another the products of simultaneous extrusion in a common outer casing, which leads to an expansion of the technological capabilities of the method for manufacturing composite molded articles from meat or other plastic materials.
